Dear Maia and Isaac,
I got home last Saturday but have been overwhelmed with home, work, and coming on a business trip to Atlanta Georgia. In the last week, I have been to Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Texas, and Utah! I like to travel, but it is a bit too much!
We woke-up Saturday morning at the campground – we were the only campers. Now, that is weird. The sun gets so hot, so early in the 4-corners region that we went hiking before I packed-up the tent. It was pretty early, and I was fortunate that there was cloud cover for Maizzy so we could hike a bit longer.
It was pretty in the early morning. I think it is probably the earliest that we have hiked it. Maizzy slept and Kachina chased lizards. Sazi just looked at the scenery. I thought how odd it was that all three dogs could hike with me last September when we were here. Now, I don’t know if Sazi or Maizzy will ever be able to do that much on their own, again. 😦
It was a good end to the week. Someplace close to home but also far enough away that it is a change of scenery. There is something about ancient cultures that make life’s worries seem less important.
I wish it had been a little cooler the last few days, but we adapted. When we got home there was a big storm happening that knocked the neighbor’s tree down on their car. It was cool and wet. We hadn’t felt that for a while.
I miss you bunches!
Love, Grandma Hartt
